Treatment of chemical waste is a complex matter. Each problem is different and demands a specific treatment. Eurowaste co-operates intensively with specialized treatment centers in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Austria and Germany to treat each waste issue according to the best available technology. Eurowaste has an answer to treating each type of waste stream thanks to the wide network of cooperative treatment centers over Europe.
Our aim is to find an economically justified solution for waste based on the best available technology (BAT).
There are different treatments available for each waste stream.
Recycling or Disposal Treatment
R treatment meaning revalorization or recovery of the waste. Considering the impact on the environment, it is better to apply an R treatment which means the waste will be re-used, recycled or incinerated for a useful purpose.
The priority sequence found in the ladder of Lansink (see below) illustrates in order of hierarchy which application is most recommended regarding the environmental impact. The top of the ladder shows prevention of waste followed by material. The lowest rung of the ladder is dumping which is a last resort option.
